Pancharangi has taken a huge opening all around the state that it has even surprised the trade pundits. Though Yogaraj Bhat is a big brand as a film director and lyricist, the trade pundits had not expected the film to get such an opening in the presence of Vijay's Kari Chirathe which was widely publicised.
The collections of the film have marched ahead of Kari Chirathe in almost all major centres. R. It has been attracting the youth. A section of the English and Kannada media has been extremely critical of the film, but Yogaraj Bhat seems to be laughing his way to the bank.
The multiplexes in Bengaluru are expected to give a big chunk of share to the film, as much as other well maintained theatres where the film has been released. In Bangalore's main single screen Triveni there were a large number of people waiting outside for more than two to three hours for the tickets. The situation is no different in certain other theatres also.
On Sunday the first show tickets were sold off by noon and a number of youngsters decided to stay put and see the second show also. Even in Davanagere and Shimoga where action films get a good opening, a love story like Pancharangi has marched ahead of Kari Chirathe.
