On 13 June 2012, Nolan confirmed that he and Emma Thomas would executive produce Wally Pfister's directorial debut, Transcendence.[134] Jack Paglen wrote the screenplay, which revolve around two leading computer scientists work toward their goal of technological singularity, as a radical anti-technology organization fights to prevent them from creating a world where computers can transcend the abilities of the human brain.[135] Nolan's former assistant and frequent collaborator Jordan Goldberg re-wrote the script with Alex Paraskevas.[136] Transcendence is scheduled to be released in theaters on 18 April, 2014.[137] Warner Bros. will distribute the film in the United States, and Lionsgate will distribute it in other territories.
