Krishnan Love Story director Shashank is directing Vijay for the first time in the film titled as Jarasandha which is being produced by Venkatesh, Gangadhar and Basavaraju who had earlier produced films like Shourya and Geleya. This film is an action thriller and Shashank who has so far done many message oriented social and youthful films is experimenting with an action film for the first time. The film will be launched on January 17 in Bengaluru. Glamorous Aindrita Ray who had already worked with Vijay in the super hit film Junglee is once again being paired with the actor in this film. Devaraj and Jackie fame Sampath are playing important roles in the film."It would be a start to finish shooting schedule from January 17. We are having a big schedule in Bengaluru after which we will be shooting songs in many outdoor spots for which we are now scouting the locations. I have already written the dialogues for the film. The script work has taken me nearly six months time though the story line was in my mind for nearly two years. The entire team is now galvanised to make a good thriller which will entertain the audience from start to finish' said Shashak in a conversation with Chitraloka Mega Portal.
Gangadhar who is the producer of the film said that they are very happy with the combination of Vijay and Shashank which has already created a big craze for the film as even before the start of the film there has been much inquiry from the trade.
Arjun has composed the music for the film. Yogaraj Bhat, Jayanth Kaikini and Shashank have already written lyrics of the film. Chandrashekhar is working behind the camera in this film.
Vijay will be joining the shoot after he completes the shooting of Johny Mera Naam which is now being shot in a special set erected in Mysore.
